8th January 1941
Suicide : Annie Berry , 68 years, 14 Fern Hill Drive, by Inhaling coal gas.
9th January 1941 Enquiry : Supt Seaforth, A barage Balloon , broken away from moorings at Vale Park, trailing 6,000 feet of cable, and travelling at 25 miles per hour in N.N.E direction.
12th January 1941 Crinmes : Barker Holden, 135 Burnley Road, Weir, Bacup a coal dealer, reported that 2 sacks of poultry food were missing from a hen cabin situated in a field off Burnley Road Weir.
Horace Brassington, 3 Rosehill Street, Bacup reported that a sum of money had been entrusted to Margaret Allen, and he suspected that she had converted some to her own use.
John William Greenwood, 20 Shepherd Street, Bacup reported that a sum of money had been entrusted to Margaret Allen, and he suspected that she had converted some to her own use.

Tuesday 18th February 1941 Street Accident : At 0.10 pm Thomas Bolton, 69 years of 169 Market Street , Bacup, was knocked down and injured by a Morris 8HP motor van. Reg No. HG 3707 in Market Street, Bacup.
Friday 28th March 1941 Foot and Mouth Disease : A large number of County boroughs, and parishes have been declared Infected Areas, Bacup and the surrounding boroughs included.

Sunday 13th July 1941 Special Supervision : The regional police headquarters reports that in the 16th instant a military convoy would pass through the borough consisting of 67 vehicles and 8 motor cycles.
Reports : P.C.10 Barrage Balloon, straying over the borough. P.S.2 Cpl W Stratton Instructed to return to unit.
Tuesday 11th November 1914 Sudden Death: At 9.20am information was recieved at the office of the sudden death of Alice Eckersley age 60 years, of 334 Newchurch Road, Stacksteads on Stacksteads railway station.
Monday 22nd December 1941 In view of the special liability of larceny of poultry round about Christmas time patrols will give special attention to this class of crime.

Tuesday 14 July 1942 Street Accident : At 8.55 a street accident occurred in Rochdale Road, near to the Empire theatre whereby Betty Ashness aged 4 and half years of 13 Heys Street, Bacup sustained head injuries.
Monday 24th August 1942 Alien Reporting : At 10am Audino Luigi and alien of Italian nationality reported his arrival in this borough and will reside at 4 Pembroke Street, Bacup.
Tuesday 29th September 1942 MVB Message : James Davies and James Brennan absconded from remand centre.
Monday 19th October 1942 Occurence : Unusual sounds heard by night-watchman at Reed works, Beech mill, Bacup.
Saturday 28 November 1942 Occurence : Prize draw tickets found in Kimberley Working men's club, Rakehead, Stacksteads.
Monday 11 December 1942 Enquiry : Edward Allan Harris and Robert Chatman absconded from Dolroyd Approved school.
