Albion Mill was a three storeyed building built in 1845 first occupied by a Mr Charles Stewart and then George Cooper Harrison who in 1865 threw a party for the work people to celebrate the installation of a new horizontal steam engine christened "Josephine". Mt Harrison went out of business in 1867. A Mr Molesworthy Hepworth then became the occupier of the mill in 1887,by 1889 Mr Molesworthy had purchased Grove Mill and immediately transferred all the looms from Albion Shed to Grove Mill. Once again Albion Mill was put up for sale.As with many other mills various business took over various parts of the mill Messrs Mitchell & Co Dyers, The Albion Mill Co, and Molesworthy Hepworth.

Slipper manufacturing came to Albion Mill in 1911 in the form of Messer's Jones and Harsden managed by a Mr Ernest Birtwistle formerly of Waterside Mill.Three years later Mr George Pickup was using the mill for the manufacture of cardboard boxes, whilst in 1915 slippers were once again being produced at Albion under the ownership of Messer's Hartley & Co Slipper Manufacturers. From Tallow to dance shows Albion Mill had a very varied history finally being destroyed by fire in November of 1977.
